Morphe Brushes Gun Metal Collection Review

Hi Everyone.. so today I will be talking about and reviewing some new brush additions to my collection, from the Morphe Gun Metal Collection.

I purchased seven brushes from the collection and these included a mixture of both eye and face brushes.
Eye Brushes:
G13 - blending fluff
G14 - oval shadow
G15 - small oval shadow
G17 - round blender
G18 - round crease
 Face Brush
G3 - tapered contour
 Face Brush
G2 - pointed buffer
It is clear that the design of these brushes was carefully thought out and the quality of each brush is amazing. They feel luxury and are made to a very high quality. I also love the gun metal colour and feel of the brush handles as they are really sturdy. Having used these brushes for about a month now I am more then happy with how each and every brush works for me..

The eye brushes blend in colours perfectly with minimal fall out and are also a pleasure to use because the bristles are so soft. Each brush lives up to its given name and does its job really well.

As for the face brushes, to be honest I think they have changed my base routine on the days I have a bit more time e.g. special occasions and I really do see a difference in the way my make up applies. I use the pointed buffer to set my under eye concealer and it works perfectly. The shape and angle of the bristles makes it easy to apply the powder under the eye just where I need it. I use the tapered contour for applying cream bronzer as I think the shape and size of the brush is made for this. It picks up just enough product and blends as I apply it which is great!
Overall I think this range us beautiful, both in the way they look and also the way they work. The eye brushes are worth every penny spent and the face brushes make base application seamless. The overall quality of each brush is definitely beyond what I expected and I am so happy I got these brushes, I absolutely love them!!

Mauve Make Up Look

Hi Everyone!
In todays post I will be talking to you about how I created this simple Mauve toned make up look using a mix of drugstore and high end products, perfect for either the daytime or nighttime.

Last week I went out to a concert for the evening and decided I would like to keep my make up fairly neutral with a touch of mauve and brown tones.

Products Used:
Loreal: Lumi Magic Primer
Mac: Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (NC40)
Collection: Luminating touch brightening concealer
Nars: Casino Bronzer
Nars: Sin Blusher
Benefit: Watts Up Highlighter
Mac Lipstick: Creme in your Coffee
Urban Decay: Primer Potion
Marc Jacobs: Lolita Eyeshadow Palette
Rimmel: Day to Night Mascara (Black)

For this eye look I wanted to keep it simple but still give my eyes some depth and colour. The Marc Jacobs Pallete was perfect for this as it has a mix of neutral matte and shimmery tones which blend perfectly.

I dusted the shade 2 ( a matte nude) all over my eyelid as a base and then deepened the crease using shade 3 ( a matte coffee brown). I also wanted a spot of glitter on the middle of my eyelid and in the inner corners so I used shade 4 ( a metallic warm pink with glitter) on a flat packing brush to add a slight shimmer. For my brow bone I used a mixture of shade 1 (a matte off white creme) and the Benefit watts up to highlight and the eye look was complete.

MAC studio fix powder plus foundation as a base
A bit of dimension to the face with Nars Casino Bronzer using a Mac 109 Brush
Nars Sin Blusher using a MAC 116 Blush Brush
Mauvy Pink Lips

The COMPLETE LOOK

Thank you for reading, hope this gave you some inspiration for a simple winter evening look.
Have you tried any of these products? what did you think?

Marc Jacobs Nail Lacquer Review

Hi Everyone!

For todays post I will be taking about one of my favourite beauty products → NAIL POLISH :D.. Specifically 'Marc Jacobs Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer'. I picked up three of the shades from his collection on my recent trip to France. I went into Sephora and did not step out until I had these in my basket as I have been looking for these for the longest time ever! and they do not sell or ship to the UK :(

These polishes retail for 18 Euros each so the price point is in line with most high end luxury polish brands...

Lets start by taking a moment for the BEAUTIFUL packaging he has designed for this product. It is simple, unique and classy... and the shape of the bottle is like no other, i love it!... I picked up three shades.
1. Delphine - a gorgeous everyday creamy browny nude. perfect for everyday wear
2. Lux - something different! a bright neon yellow shade perfect for making a statement
3. Secret Love - the most beautiful aubergine purple shade I have seen. one of my favourite colours

Firstly these polishes come with the perfect sized brush, easy to use and not too large so polish application is easy.. Which is important when buying a luxury nail polish. The formula of the polish is an ideal consistency and not thick or clumpy at all... I found that for all three polishes two coats gives enough coverage and when dry, the gel like shine is exactly what I love! So a top coat is not really needed.

The lasting power of all three I would say is perfect! They last about a week before showing any wear and thats about right as I wouldn't keep a polish on for longer than a week anyway as I like to keep changing up colours :)

My favourite of all three shades is the neon yellow 'Lux' as i do not own a colour like it and it is such a striking colour which I wouldn't usually go for but have now fallen in love with.

Below I have swatched all three gorgeous shades..

LUX

DELPHINE

SECRET LOVE

Overall I am really impressed with the look, formula and lasting power of all three of these polishes. Marc Jacobs has done an excellent job with his design and I can't wait to try more shades from this line! I would really recommend these to anyone looking to try something different and willing to spend a little more as you definitely get the quality you pay for. These are now some of my favourites.. Let me know what you think if you have tried them too..

Sephora Fizzing Cubes

Hi everyone!
Today I will be reviewing the Sephora's 'Fizzing cubes' which are essentially scented bath bombs. I purchased these for $2.50 each on my recent trip to Rome, Italy from Sephora.

Firstly the packaging of these products come in cute vibrant colours to match their scent and whats really handy is that you can smell the product through the plastic which makes it easier to choose the ones you would like to try. The three scents I bought are strawberry, mango and vanilla which are all sweet scents that I love.

The first one I used was the mango flavour, I broke the cube in half and placed it into a bathtub filled with hot/warm water. After my shower the scent lingered all day and my skin felt so smooth which I loved.

These cubes smell amazing!! They are well worth the money if you can get your hands on them!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Review

Pre-Shampoo Treatment

Hi everyone to todays post is going to be a review of this miracle in a tub... the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. This product is advertised as a pre-shampoo treatment which claims to add elasticity, manageability, bounce and shine.

My hair is very thin and I use heat on it nearly everyday therefore I was looking for a miracle product that i could use to repair my damaged and spit ends. I have been using this hair mask for the past month now and I cannot get enough of it. This product does exactly what it claims to do and MORE. It has transformed the way my hair looks and feels and I wish I had bought it years ago. The amazing thing is that everyone can use this product as it is made for ALL hair types.

(see below image for how it can help your hair type)

Use: The directions advise to 'apply to wet hair before shampooing and leave for 10-20 minutes before washing' but I leave the product in my hair overnight for better results. I use it once or twice a week depending on how much heat I have used on my hair that week. A little bit does a long way with this mask and I feel a really small amount of this product goes a long way on my medium to long length hair.

It is fragrence free which I love because I cannot smell it during the night and for people who prefer fragrance free hair products this is perfect. In terms of the formula, it is an  intensive hair treatment but the formula is lightweight which makes it really easy to apply to the mid and end sections of my hair, it does not get sticky or messy like other masks I have used.

Below is an image to give you an idea of what the product looks like

Winner of Instyle's 'Best Beauty Buys 2013' - Well deserved!

Ingredients for those who are interested

You need to have this in your life girls! It will transform the way your hair looks and feels like no other hair mask will.

Final Thoughts: After using this hair mask which has transformed my hair, I know it will be a part of my haircare routine for a long as it is available for purchase (which I hope is for many years to come). It does everything it claims and more and I know without this amazing product my hair would not be as healthy as it is now. If you get a chance to try this definitely do because trust me you do not know what your hair is missing out on until you do. This product is worth every penny and I would give this product a 10/10 any day.

Chanel Accessoire Nail Polish Review

Chanel: Accessoire - 573
Hi everyone so my first ever blog post is a review of one of my favourite nail polishes 'Accessoire' by Chanel which was part of their spring 2013 Printemps Precieux Collection.

Lets get started... So the first thing you will notice about this product is its beautiful and luxurious looking bottle which has Chanel's signature logo on the lid and bottle. This polish is a beautiful dark burgundy red shade which would compliment any skin tone in my opinion.

When I first used it i was really impressed with the brush it comes with. It is the perfect size to cover the nail without having the polish go all over the skin, it also makes application easier. The formulation of this polish is almost perfect and it applies like a dream. 2 coats is enough to give a smooth opaque finish without the need for a topcoat. The lasting power of this polish is also worth the money. When i first used it, I had it on for at least 6-7 days without it wearing, chipping or looking messy.

Below is a swatch of this shade taken in natural daylight

Final Thoughts: As with every high end polish you do expect to get what you pay for and i can safely say that with this Chanel polish you get exactly that. It is luxurious, classy and the formula is one of the best i have tried to date. It is definitely one to try if you are looking for a rich deep burgundy shade with a highly glossy finish, you will not be disappointed.
