Nails Inc - Snowflake Whitechapel

Hi everyone! Today Im going to be talking about and showing you the perfect festive nail polish.. Nails Inc - Whitechapel. I was lucky enough to be given this polish at the recent UK Nail Artists meet up I went to a few weeks ago, and Nails Inc kindly collaborated and gave us this polish among a few others they have recently launched.

This polish is a special effects shade created especially for Christmas as was brought back by popular demand. It is the perfect christmas gift for any nail polish lover or anyone else you know who likes painting their nails.
Packaging: As you can see, it comes in a cute silver gift presentation box with the nails inc logo making it even more special and perfect for gifting. The product is also contained within Nails Inc's new rectangular shaped bottle which I personally like a bit more than their traditional cylinder shaped packaging, as it looks more classy and is better suited to the price point of the polishes they create.

Product: This polish is a glittery topcoat but you can also use it all over the nails (with 2/3 laters to make it opaque). It contains gold and white strips with white hexagon shaped glittery pieces which give the polish the snowflake effect.

Application: The product is extremely easy to apply on top of any base colour, the brush is the perfect size for neat application with minimal product going onto the skin. I created a gradient effect with the design below using small strokes on the tips of my nails and gradually built it up to my desired look. However you can also cover the nail with the glitter and it would still look pretty if you wish.

Removal: So I have to put this out there, the only downside to this product is the fact that it takes a long time to take off...BEWARE you will need a lot of TIME, NAIL POLISH REMOVER AND COTTON PADS. Because this is a glittery topcoat for some reason it always takes 10x longer to take it off at the end. My tip would be to wrap the nails in cotton balls dipped in remover and leave it for 10 minutes before you take it off. I wish I had done this myself.

Price Point: This polish retails for £16 a bottle. Personally I think this is ok if i was giving this as a gift to someone for christmas or any other occasion however I wouldn't spend that kind of money for myself.
'Mr Snowman Nails'.. I used 'Barry M Lychee' as a base and created a glitter gradient with 'Whitechapel'.. Then painted a snowman on my accent nail to finish off the look.

Overall I think this polish is a pretty little addition to my ever growing nail polish collection and I love how it applied and looked with my christmas nail art design. It is a unique product which is perfect as a gift and I would like to thank Nails Inc for giving me the chance to try and review this product. I am really loving the new bottle design and the packaging it comes in is cute too.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil - Majella

Hi everyone, today I decided to review NARS satin lip pencil in the shade 'Majella' as it is one I have been reaching for quite a lot lately and it is slowly becoming one of my favourite red lip colours.

This product retails for £18 and I purchased it from the NARS counter at Selfridges in Oxford Street London.

Starting with the packaging, it comes in a chunky pencil form which unfortunately you cannot twist up to bring out more product which is something I wish I could do. You need to sharpen in with a large sharpener which can get messy. However the size of the product is small and handbag friendly, it does not take up a lot of space in your make up bag making it handy for when you are on the go.

The formulation of this product is one of the best I have tried when it comes to lip pencils. It is creamy, smooth to apply on the lips and very moisturising when they are on.  I would recommend using a lip liner if you know you will be eating or drinking while having it on. But overall the lasting power of the colour is excellent. For me it lasts at least 3-5 hours without the need to re-apply.

Overall I think this lip product is lovely in terms of application, pigmentation and lasting power. I would recommend this range to anyone starting out with make up and the crayon makes it easy to apply without the need for using lip brushes or having super precise application technique. You can basically draw on your lines and then fill in the lips.

I would love to try more colours from this range.
What are your favourites, tell me what you think...

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Review

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine - Shade 11

Todays post will be a review of this gorgeous YSL sheer nude lipstick. This range launched in 2012 so I am quite late with this one but I took a trip to Selfridges in London a few weeks back and the colour caught my eye straight away so i decided to treat myself as it was exam season and I needed a little lift :)

My first impression of this product when I tried it on at the counter is that it was super moisturising and soft on the lips. It gives a sheer finish and is perfect to wear on a day to day basis, it is in-between a lipstick and lipgloss and has just enough pigment for an everyday nude lip. It's lasting power is good and it does not feel sticky on the lips at all which is exactly what I look for in a good lip product.

Image taken in natural day light. As you can see its the perfect your lips but better nude shade. Ideal for university or work.

Here is a close up of the detail on the packaging. It has YSL's signature logo all around the bullet which just makes it look extra luxurious and pretty.

Overall I think this product is well worth its £24 price point and I think I'm becoming addicted to it as I would really like to try more shades from this range. It is definitely one to try if you are looking for a more high-end sheer coverage moisturising lip product because this does exactly what it claims to do.

Chanel Accessoire Nail Polish Review

Chanel: Accessoire - 573
Hi everyone so my first ever blog post is a review of one of my favourite nail polishes 'Accessoire' by Chanel which was part of their spring 2013 Printemps Precieux Collection.

Lets get started... So the first thing you will notice about this product is its beautiful and luxurious looking bottle which has Chanel's signature logo on the lid and bottle. This polish is a beautiful dark burgundy red shade which would compliment any skin tone in my opinion.

When I first used it i was really impressed with the brush it comes with. It is the perfect size to cover the nail without having the polish go all over the skin, it also makes application easier. The formulation of this polish is almost perfect and it applies like a dream. 2 coats is enough to give a smooth opaque finish without the need for a topcoat. The lasting power of this polish is also worth the money. When i first used it, I had it on for at least 6-7 days without it wearing, chipping or looking messy.

Below is a swatch of this shade taken in natural daylight

Final Thoughts: As with every high end polish you do expect to get what you pay for and i can safely say that with this Chanel polish you get exactly that. It is luxurious, classy and the formula is one of the best i have tried to date. It is definitely one to try if you are looking for a rich deep burgundy shade with a highly glossy finish, you will not be disappointed.
